After washing your thick tights, thick tights manufacturers recommend that you lay your thick tights flat to dry unless your thick tights care label states that it can be tumble dried.

If you want to carefully lay out thick tights to dry, we recommend laying them flat on a light-colored or white towel that won't lint.

There is also a special clothes drying screen on the market that can be installed above the bathtub. These tools tend to speed up the drying process. When laying the thick tights flat on a towel to dry, you can gently shape them by hand to smooth out any wrinkles and creases as much as possible.

Let the thick tights dry naturally. When possible, be sure to lay out thick tights or other knitted items flat to dry. If you hang it on a clothesline or hanger to dry, wet clothes are heavier and will sag, causing them to stretch and deform.

If using pins to style clothes, make sure they are rust-proof.

Hanging clothes on a hanger to dry not only causes them to stretch and lengthen, but it can also cause them to distort and form bulges in the shoulder area. Those wire hangers are especially bad.

When drying, avoid direct sunlight, enhanced sunlight (near a window), or directly near a heat source. Never dry your thick tights or any other wool garments on a radiator. The part of the garment directly above the radiator tends to dry the fastest and can cause discoloration or damage to that part of the garment.

If parts of the thick tights are deformed, such as shoulders bulging from drying or storage on a hanger, soak these parts in lukewarm water (30°C to 40°C) and gently tidy them by hand.

Thick tights generally return to their original shape after drying. The only exception is if the thick tights are marked dry clean or hand wash only and you accidentally wash it in the washing machine, causing the thick tights to shrunk badly and feel irreversibly.
